.....State Government under sub-section (2) of section 3 to make any assessment under this Act; (c) "business" includes, - (i) any trade, commerce, manufacture, any adventure or concern, in the nature of trade, commerce or manufacture, whether or not such trade, commerce, manufacture, adventure or concern is carried on with a motive to make profit and whether or not any profit accrues therefrom; and (ii) any transaction in connection with or ancillary to such trade, commerce, manufacture, adventure or concern; (d) "capital goods" means plant, machinery or equipment 1[including hydraulic mobile pick and carry cranes] used in the process of manufacturing, processing and packing of goods for sale excluding civil structures as may be prescribed; (e) "casual dealer" means any person who carries on occasional transactions of business of buying, selling, supplying or distributing goods whether for cash, deferred payment, commission, remuneration or other valuable consideration; (f) "Commissioner" means the Excise and Taxation Commissioner appointed under sub-section (1) of section 3; (g) "dealer" means any person who carries on (whether regularly or otherwise) the business of buying,.....

.....Chapter, the process of drawing or redrawing a bar, rod, wire rod, round bar or any other similar article, into bright bar, shall amount to "manufacture".] 1. In this Chapter, the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them: (a) lloy pig iron: Pig iron containing, by weight, one or more of the following elements in the specified proportions: - more than 0.2% of chromium - more than 0.3% of copper - more than 0.3% of nickel - more than 0.1% of any of the following elements: aluminium, molybdenum, titanium, tungsten (wolfram), vanadium. (b) Non-alloy free-cutting steel: Non-alloy steel containing, by weight, one or more of the following elements in the specified proportions: - 0.08% or more of sulphur - 0.1% or more of lead - more than 0.05% of selenium - more than 0.01% of tellurium - more than 0.05% of bismuth. (c) Silicon-electrical steel: Alloy steels containing, by weight, at least 0.6% but not more than 6% of silicon and not more than 0.08% of carbon. The Tripura Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, 2007 Complete Act

.....purchase of sold goods " (a) in the same form in which they were sold, or (b) without doing anything to them, which amounts, or result in a manufacture." (iv) The sub-section 25 is renumbered as 25(i) and a new sub-section 25(ii) shall be inserted namely :- "25(ii) ˜Purchase' with all its grammatical variations and cognate expressions means any transaction of acquiring property in goods against valuable consideration or deferred payment by a dealer on purchase of taxable goods as mentioned in schedule VIII including any sum charged for, (a) anything done by the seller with or in respect of the goods at the time of or before delivery thereof and (b) containers or other materials for the packaging of such goods." (v) in sub-section 26, after the words "tax imposed under this Act", the words, "and ˜purchase price' means the amount of valuable consideration paid or payable by a dealer on purchase of taxable goods as mentioned in schedule VIII" shall be inserted and the explanation shall be renumbered as Explanation 1 and after the explanation so renumbered the following explanation shall be inserted namely:- "Explanation 2 :- For the purpose of this clause purchase.....
