Punjab Resumption of Jagirs Act, 1957 Complete Act

.....terms and conditions of the grant or assignment. (2) The decision of the State Government under sub-section (1) shall be conclusive proof of the fact whether an assignment or grant is a military jagir or not and shall not be called in question in any Court of law or before any other authority. Compensation for resumption of Jagirs 5. (1) In consideration of the extinguishment and resumption of the jagir, the jagirdar or his successor, as the case may be, shall be paid a sum equal to seven times the amount payable annually to the jagirdar immediately before the extinguishment and resumption in respect of the assignment or grant or seven times the amount which would have been payable by him annually immediately before the extinguishment and resumption as land revenue but for the remission by way of muafi : Provided that " (a) In the case of a military jagir referred to in the proviso to section 3, the jagirdar shall, before the 15th May,1961, be entitled to claim compensation in lieu of the continuance of the jagir for his life; and where the jagirdar makes such a claim the jagir shall be deemed to be extinguished and resumed on the date on which such claim is made ; .....

This Act may be called the Punjab Court of Wards (Validation of Exercise of Powers) Act, 1957. Validation of acts and indemnity in respect thereof. 2. All acts of executive authority or proceedings which have been done or taken with respect to or in connection with any court of wards estate since 1st October, 1949 and before the commencement of this Act, by an officer not below the rank of Extra Assistant Commissioner in charge of court of wards estate or by a person acting under his authority or otherwise in pursuance of an order of Punjab Court of Wards, or in the belief or purported belief that the acts and proceedings were being done or taken under the orders passed under.....

(2) If at the commencement of this Act any sentence of whipping imposed upon any offender by a Court or other authority under any law referred to in subsection (1) has not been executed for any reasons, whether wholly or partially, the offender shall be dealt with in the manner provided in section 395 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, as if that section had not been repealed by the Abolition of Whipping Act, 1955 (Act No. 44 of 1955). 1. .....RESTRICTION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1957 [Act No. 21 of 1957] [15th July, 1957.] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949 (Act No. III of 1949). Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Section 1 - Short title and extent (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Urban Rent Restriction (Amendment) Act, 1957. (2) It extends to the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in the State of Punjab. Section 2 - Amendment of Section 13 of the East Punjab Act No. III of 1949 After clause (c) of sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (a) of sub-section (3) of Section 13 of the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949, the following shall be added, namely :- "(d) it was let to the tenant for use as a residence by reason of his being in the service or employment of the landlord, and the tenant has ceased, whether before or after the commencement of this Act, to be in such service or employment: Provided that where the tenant is a workman who has been discharged or dismissed by the landlord from his service or employment in contravention of.....

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Scale of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:" Short title and commencement. 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Industrial Disputes (Amendment and Miscellaneous Provisions) (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1957. (2) It shall come into force at once. Section 2 - Amendment of section 30 of Parliament Act No. 36 of 1956 Section 30 of the Industrial Disputes (Amendment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1956, in its application to the State of Punjab, shall be numbered as sub-section (1) of that section and thereafter the following sub-section (2) shall be added, namely :- "(2) If immediately before the commencement of this Act there was pending any proceeding in relation to an industrial dispute before a Tribunal constituted under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947,.....
