THE INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES (PUNJAB AMENDMENT) ACT, 1957 [Act No. 8 of 1957] [3rd June 1957] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, in its application to the State of Punjab. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Industrial Disputes (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1957. (2) It shall come into force at once. Section 2 - Amendment of section 7 of the Central Act No. XIV of 1947 In sub-section (3) of section 7 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, as amended by the Industrial Disputes (Amendment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1956, in its application to the State of Punjab (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), at the end of clause (b), the word "or" and the following new clauses shall be added namely :- "(c) he is or has been a District Judge; or (d) he has held the office of the Chairman or any other member of the Labour Appellate Tribunal constituted under the Industrial Disputes (Appellate Tribunal) Act, 1950, or of any Tribunal, for the period of not less than two years", Section 3 - Amendment of section 7-C of Central Act No. XIV of 1947 In section 7-C of the Principal Act, for clause (b), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "(b) he has attained the age of sixty-seven years." |
