1. The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for an alleged offence punishable under Sections 120(B), 420, 406, 294(b) and 506(i) of IPC in Crime No.75 of 2016, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the de-facto complainant is running orphanages and old age homes at Kanyakumari District. The petitioner and other accused persons promised to get sanction from the Government and received a sum of Rs.14,50,000/-. But subsequently, they did not get any amount from the Government and swindled money received from the de-facto complainant. When the same was demanded by the de-facto complainant, they threatened with dire consequences and complaint case has been registered.

3. When the matter was listed on 29.06.2016, there was no representation for the petitioner and the matter adjourned today. Today also, there is no representation for the petitioner.

4.
