Section 3 - One Police Force of the State (1) There shall be one Police Force for the State; Members of the Police shall be liable for posting to any branch of the Force in the State, including any of its specialized wings. (2) The entire police establishment under the State Government shall, for the purpose of this Act, be deemed to be one Police Force and shall be formally enrolled and shall consist of such members of officers and men, and shall be constituted in such manner, as shall from time to time be ordered by the State Government. THE TRIPURA POLICE ACT, 2007 THE TRIPURA POLICE ACT, 2007 AN ACT (i) to redefine the role, duties and responsibilities of the police service in the context of the emerging challenges of policing and security of the State, the imperatives of good governance, and respect for human rights, (ii) to make the police personnel professionally organized, service oriented, free from extraneous influences and accountable to law, and (iii) to empower the police to enable it to function as an impartial, efficient, effective, people friendly and responsive agency in order to enable it carry out the constitutional objectives of protection of civil, political, social and economic rights of the citizens as provided therein. Be it enacted by the Tripura Legislative Assembly in the Fifty-eight year of the Republic of India as follows: CHAPTER-I Preliminary 1 Short title extent and commencement : (1) This Act may be called the Tripura Police Act 2007. .....USERS & PEDESTRIANS (PUBLIC SAFETY & CONVENIENCE) ACT, 2007 THE SHIMLA ROAD USERS & PEDESTRIANS (PUBLIC SAFETY & CONVENIENCE) ACT, 2007 [Act No. 2 of 2008] [13th February, 2008] PREAMBLE An ACT to restore the sanctity of the Shimla Mall Road by preventing its use as a thoroughfare and to provide for regulation of vehicular traffic in the interest of public safety and convenience on the sealed and restricted roads of Shimla town to prevent annoyance and injury to pedestrians and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh in the Fifty- eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Shimla Road Users and Pedestrians (Public Safety and Convenience) Act, 2007. (2) It extends to the Municipal limits of Shimla Town. (3) It shall come into force at once. The State Government shall, take all measures to ensure that-- (i) the provisions of this Act are given wide publicity through public media including the television, radio and the print, at regular intervals; (ii) the Central Government and State Government Officers, including the police officers and the members of the judicial service, are given periodic sensitization and awareness training on the issues relating to this Act; (iii) effective co-ordination between the services provided by the concerned Ministries or Departments dealing with law, home affairs, health and welfare, to address the issues relating to the welfare of the senior citizens and periodical review of the same is conducted.
