THE KARNATAKA SELECTION OF CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION TO MEDICAL, DENTAL AND ENGINEERING COURSES (SPECIAL PROVISIONS) ACT, 2004 [Act No. 24 Of 2004] [30th July 2004] PREAMBLE An Act to make special provisions for the selection of candidates and admission to professional institutions in the State. Whereas it is expedient to provide for selection of candidates for admission to professional institutions in the State and for matters incidental thereto and connected therewith, in the light of principles laid down by the Constitution Bench in the TMA Pai's case and subsequent pronouncements. .....Staff Selection Commission (E) "Member" means the member of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (F) "Rules" means the rules framed under this Act. Section 3 - Constitution of Commission The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission shall be constituted as follows :- [A] Chairman - An officer of the Indian Administrative Service, appointed by the State Government not below the rank: of Super-time Scale with at least three years of service remaining. [B] Member - Two officers of All India Services/State Services, appointed by the State Government not below the pay scale of Rs. 14300-18300 (or similar pay scale revised time to time) with at least three years of remaining. [C] Appointment of Chairman/Members - The State Government shall be the appointing authority for the Chairman/Members. .....services to or at such a Centre, Laboratory or Clinic, whether on an honorary basis or otherwise, and who contravenes any of the provisions of this Act or rules made thereunder shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and with fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees and on any subsequent conviction, with imprisonment which may extend to five years and with fine which may extend to fifty thousand rupees. 1[( 2 ) The name of the registered me dical practitioner sh all be reported by the Appropriate Authority to the State Medical Council concerned for taking necessary action including suspension of the registration if the charges are framed by the court and till the case is disposed of and on conviction for removal of hi s name from the register of the Council for a period of five years for the first offence and permanently for the sub sequent offence.
