Substituted for a deduction from such remuneration of an amount equal to seventy-five per cent of such remuneration, as is brought into India by, or on behalf of, the assessee in convertible foreign exchange within a period of six months from the end of the previous year or within such further period as the competent authority may allow in this behalf : by the Finance Act, 2000, with effect from 1st April, 2001. Earlier the quoted portion was amended by the Finance Act, 1999, with effect from 1st June, 1999. 2. See rule 29A and Form No. 10H. For analysis, see Mashbras Income-tax Rules, 2003 edition. 3. Inserted by the Finance Act, 1999, with effect from 1st June, 1999.
