(2) Till such time an appropriate law is made on the subject, the State Police Board shall also function as the State Vigilance Commission and perform the same functions in respect of the Sikkim Vigilance Police as are performed by the State Police Board in respect of the State Police, with Director Vigilance acting as the Member Secretary, who shall be an officer not below the rank of Inspector General of Police. Collection of Statistics Act 2008 Chapter V

Without prejudice to the provisions contained in this Act, the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare from time to time any subject for the collection of statistics of national importance as 'core statistics' and make such arrangement, as it may consider necessary, for regulating the collection and dissemination of statistics on the subject so declared.
