COPYRIGHT ACT, 1957 COPYRIGHT ACT, 1957 [Act No. 14 of Year 1957, dated 4th. June, 1957] An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to copyright Be it enacted by Parliament in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER I: PRELIMINARY SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Copyright Act, 1957. .....Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Aircraft Rules, 1937, namely: SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND EXTENT (1) This Act may be called The Aircraft Act, 1934. Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Complete Act

.....To meet the immediate requirements of the country soon after independence the Merchant Shipping Laws. (Extension to Acceding States and Amendment) Act, 1949 was enacted, by which the British Merchant Shipping Acts 1894 to 1938 were extended to the Acceding States (later known as Part B States) and Indian Consular Officers were empowered to perform functions in relation to Indian ships outside India and provision was made to enable Government to prescribe the proper national colours for ships registered in India, The Control of Shipping Act, 1947, was another short-term measure which continued the war-time control over Indian shipping and controlled the coastal trade by a system of licensing. Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 Section 17

Title: Duties of the Committee and Power of the Committee to Make Rules Relating to Experiments on Animals

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 Complete Act

(2) No order under sub-section (1) shall be made unless it is shown by evidence as to a previous conviction under this Act or as to the character of the owner or otherwise as to the treatment of the animal that the animal, if left with the owner, is likely to be exposed to further cruelty. (3) Without prejudice to the provisions contained in sub-section (1), the court may also order that a person convicted of an offence under this Act shall, either permanently or during such period as is fixed by the order, be prohibited from having the custody of any animal of any kind whatsoever, or, as the court thinks, fit, of any animal of any kind whatsoever, or as the court thinks fit, of any animal of any king or species specified in to order. Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 Complete Act

Act 68 of 1982 The Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, regulates the import into, manufacture, distribution and sale of drugs and cosmetics in the country. The problems of adulteration of drugs and also of production of spurious and sub-standard drugs are posing serious threat to the health of the community. It is, therefore, considered necessary to amend the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, so as to impose more stringent penalties on the anti-social elements indulging in the manufacture or sale of adulterated or spurious drugs or drugs not of standard quality which are likely to cause death or grievous hurt to the user. This opportunity is also being availed of to incorporate certain other provisions on the other aspects of effective control on the manufacture, distribution, sale of drugs and cosmetics on the basis of experience gained in the working of the Act. 2.
