Amendment of section 1 In the Cantonments (Extension of Rent Control Laws) Act, 1957 (46 of 1957) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), section 1 shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) thereof, and after sub-section (1), as so re-numbered, the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-- "(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 26th day of January, 1950.". 3. Amendment of section 3 Section 3 of the principal Act shall be re-numbered as sub-section (1) thereof, and-- (i) in sub-section (1) as so renumbered, the words "on the date of the notification" shall be, and shall be deemed always to have been, omitted; (ii) after sub-section (1) , as so re-numbered, the following sub-section shall be, and shall be deemed always to have been, inserted, namely:- '(2) The extension of any enactment under sub-section (1) may be made from such earlier or future date as the Central Government may think fit: Provided that no such extension shall be made form a date earlier than-- (a) the commencement of such enactment, or (b) the establishment of the cantonment, or (c) the commencement of this Act, whichever is later. .....21, the words "or deemed to have been passed" shall be omitted; (k) in section 22, the words "or deemed to have been made" shall be omitted; (l) section 23, section 27 and the Schedule shall be omitted; (m) in sections 24 and 25, the words "or deemed to have been made" shall be omitted. 2[(2) Madhya Bharat Act 23 of 1955.-- Any law relating to the control of rent and regulation of house accommodation in force in the cantonment of Mhow immediately before the commencement therein of the Madhya Bharat Accommodation Control Act, 1955, shall be, and shall be deemed always to have been, extended to that cantonment under section 3 of this Act with effect form the commencement of such law in that cantonment or form the commencement of this Act, whichever is later: Provided that no such law shall continue, and shall be deemed to have continued, in force in the cantonment of Mhow on and form the commencement therein of the Madhya Bharat Accommodation Control Act, 1955. Short title This Act may be called the Prevention of Food Adulteration (Extension to Kohima and Mokokchung Districts) Repeal Act, 2002. 2. Repeal of Act 24 of 1972 The Prevention of Food Adulteration (Extension to Kohima and Mokokchung Districts) Act, 1972, is hereby repealed.

.....follows:- 1.Short title.--- This Act may be called the Opium and Revenue Laws (Extension of Application) Amendment Act, 1951. 2. Amendment of section 3, Act XXXIII of 1950.-- For clause (b) of section 3 of the Opium and Revenue Laws (Extension of Application) Act, 1950, the following clauses shall be substituted and shall be deemed always to have been substituted, namely: "(b) in the disposal of cases transferred to the Central Commission under clause (a), it shall have and exercise the same powers as it has and exercises in the investigation of cases referred to it under the Taxation on Income (Investigation Commission) Act, 1947 (XXX of 1947), and shall be entitled to act for the same term as under sub-section (3) of section 4 of that Act: (bb) any decision given, whether before or after the commencement of this Act, by the Chief Revenue Authority of Travancore or of Travancore-Cochin in the exercise or purported exercise of any powers conferred on it by any law for the time being in force in the State shall be deemed to be a decision given by the Income-tax authority for the purposes of sub-section (2) of section 8 of the Travancore Taxation on Income.....
