Title : Valuation of Relief in Certain Suits Relating to Land Not to Exceed the Value of the Land

Where a suit mentioned in the Court-fees Act, 1870 (7 of 1870), section 7 paragraph iv, or Schedule II, article 17, relates to land or an interest in land of which the value has been determined by rules under the last foregoing section, the amount at which for purposes of jurisdiction the relief sought in the suit is valued shall not exceed the value of the land or interest as determined by those rules. Nothing shall be deemed to be an offence under this Act which is done in good faith (a) for the purpose of promoting the welfare or interests of any member of a police-force by inducing him to withhold his services in any manner authorised by law; or (b) by or on behalf of any association formed for the purpose of furthering the interests of members of a police-force as such, where the association has been authorised to recognised by the Government and the act done is done under any rules or articles of the association which have been approved by the Government. Bombay Prevention of Fragmentation and Consilidation of Holdings Act, 1947 Section 4

(1) The State Government may, after such inquiry as it deems fit and after consultation with the District Advisory Committee 1[ or any other body], appointed by it, provisionally settle for any class of land in any local area the minimum area that can be cultivated profitably as a separate plot. Karnataka Acquisition of Lands for Grant of House Sites Act, 1972 Section 4

(1) Where any land is acquired by the State Government under this Act, the State Government shall pay of such acquisition an amount in accordance with the provisions of this section. (2) Where the amount has been determined by agreement between the State Government and the person whose land has been acquired, it shall be paid in accordance with such agreement. (3) Where no such agreement can be reached, the State Government shall refer the case to the Deputy Commissioner for determination of the amount to be paid for such acquisition as also the person or persons to whom such amount shall be paid.
