For Sections 28 & 29 of the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1919) (hereinafter in this Part referred to as the 1919 Act), the following Sections shall be substituted, namely: "28. (2) The election of the Mayor may be held ordinarily at the same time and in the same places as the ordinary elections of the councillors of the divisions are held. THE ACADEMY OF SCIENTIFIC AND INNOVATIVE RESEARCH ACT, 2011 THE ACADEMY OF SCIENTIFIC AND INNOVATIVE RESEARCH ACT, 2011 [Act No. 13 of 2012] [6th February, 2012] PREAMBLE An Act to establish an Academy for furtherance of the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in the field of science and technology in association with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and to declare the institution known as the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, to be an institution of national importance to provide for its incorporation and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research Act, 2011. (2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. .....Warehousing Corporation" means the Central Warehousing Corporation, established or deemed to be established under the Warehousing Corporation Act, 1962 (Act No. 58, 1962); (ix) "Chief Executive Officer" means a person, appointed as such under sub-section (2) of section 36 of the Act, by Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee. (x) "Collector" means the Collector of the District, where the Principal Market Yard of the Market Area is located, and includes such other officer, as may be authorized by him in that behalf; (xi) "Commissioner" means, the Commissioner of such administrative division of the State, where the Principal Market Yard of the Market Area is located;. (xii) "Commission Agent, dalal or arhatiya" means a person, who, in the ordinary course of business, negotiates or arrange contracts for the purchase or sale of the agricultural produce, on behalf of his principal, on payment of his commission or remuneration, whether in cash or kind, but it does not include the servant of such principal, whether engaged in negotiating or arranging such contracts; (xiii) "Committee " means the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee, constituted under this Act; .....

(2) The Chairperson shall ordinarily preside over the meetings of the Board. (3) The Board may evolve its own procedure for the purpose of conducting its meetings and transacting business therein. (4) The Associate Director in charge of administration of the Academy shall be the Secretary of the Board.

.....scientists of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research laboratories, nominated by its Director-General; (h) three persons, not being the employees of the Academy or the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, to be nominated by the Chancellor in consultation with the Director from amongst educationists of repute, one being from each of the fields of science, engineering and social sciences; (i) such other members of the staff as may be laid down in the Statutes. (2) The tenure of the nominated members under clauses (d) to (h) of sub-section (1) shall be two years: Provided that the Senate shall not, at any time, have less than fifty per cent. of its members from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research scientists teaching in the Academy.

Section 2 - Amendment of section 1 In section 1 of the Himachal Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the "principal Act"), in sub-section(3), after clause (xii), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-- "(xiii) promotion of Sports, including in-door and adventure games but excluding games of chance and betting; and (xiv) any other charitable or welfare object as the State Government may, by notification published in the Official Gazette, notify.". Section 3 - Amendment of section 8 In section 8 of the principal Act, for clause (xii), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-- "(xii) the condition that the Society shall not distribute surplus, if any, among members,".
