THE HIMACHAL PRADESH FIRE FIGHTING SERVICES ACT, 1984 (Act No. 30 of 1984) [Passed in Hindi by the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and for Statement of Objects and Reasons see R.H.P. (Extra.), dated the 12th September, 1984, page 1584 and 1990.] (Received the assent of the Governor, Himachal Pradesh, on the 3rd December, 1984 and was published in Hindi and English in R.H.P. Extra, dated 2nd February, 1985 at pages, 169-178). An Act to provide for the maintenance of effective fire fighting service in the State of Himachal Pradesh. BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh in the Thirty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follow:- PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Fire Fighting Services Act, 1984. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Himachal Pradesh. .....(1), any canal or part thereof is closed and filled up or any canal side road is closed to traffic, the State Government may deal with the space covered by such filled up canal or part thereof or by such road, in such manner as it may consider fit. Section 4 No compensation for damage No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the State Government in respect of any injury or damage caused by, or resulting from stoppage of navigation in the canals or of use of the canal side roads, or any act done under this Act. Title: Gaming and Setting Birds and Animals to Fight in Public Streets

A police officer may apprehend without warrant any person found playing for money or other valuable thing with cards, dice, counters or other instruments of gaming, used in playing any game not being a game of mere skill in any public street, place or thoroughfare situated within the limits aforesaid or any person setting any birds or animals to fight in any public street, place or thoroughfare situated within the limits aforesaid or any person there present aiding and abetting such public fighting of birds and animals. Such person when apprehended shall be brought without delay before a Magistrate, and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty rupees, or to imprisonment, either simple or rigorous, for any term not exceeding one calendar month; Distraction of instruments of gaming found in public street. and such police officer may seize all instruments of gaming found to such public place or on the person of those whom he shall so arrest, and the Magistrate may on conviction of the offender order such instruments to be forthwith destroyed.

Coast Guard Act, 1978 Section 22

Title: Quarrelling, Fighting and Disorderly Behaviour

State: Central

Year: 1978

Any person subject to this Act, who,-- (a) quarrels, fights with or strikes any other person, whether such person is or is not subject to this Act, or (b) uses reproachful or provoking speeches or gestures tending to make a quarrel or disturbance; or (c) behaves in a disorderly manner, shall, on conviction by a Coast Guard Court, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or such less punishment as in this Act mentioned.

Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 Section 25O

Title: Procedure for Closing Down an Undertaking

.....of the workmen by registered post with acknowledgement due. (2) Where a notice has been served on the State Government by an employer under sub-section (1) of section 25FFA and the period of notice had not expired on the 5th August, 1983, such employer shall not close down the undertaking but shall, within a period of fifteen days from the said date, apply to the State Government for permission to close down the undertaking. (3) Where an application for permission has been made under sub-section (1) or sub-section (2) the State Government after making such enquiry as it thinks fit and after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard to the employer, the workmen and the persons interested in such closure may, having regard to the genuineness and adequacy or the reasons stated by employer, the interests of the general public and all other relevant factors, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, grant or refuse to grant such permission and copy of such order shall be communicated to the employer and the workmen. (4) Where an application has been made under sub-section (1) or sub-section (2) as the case may be, and the State Government does not communicate.....

Title: Special Provision as to Restarting Undertakings Closed Down Before Commencement of the Industrial Disputes (Amendment) Act, 1976
