Non-application of Rent control Acts to premises of Corporation-- The Bombay Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control Act (I of 1956), 1947 or any other law corresponding thereto for the time being in force, in any part of the State-(a) shall not apply to any premises belonging to, or vesting in, any company as defined in section 3 of the Companies Act, 1956, in which not less than fifty-one percent, of the paid-up share capital is held by the State Government, or any Corporation (not being any such company or a local authority) established by or under any Central or State Act and owned, or controlled fully or partly by the State Government (hereinafter collectively referred to as "the said Corporation"); (b) shall not apply as against the said Corporation to any tenancy, licence or other like relationship created by the said Corporation in respect of any such premises; (c) but shall apply in respect of any premises let, or given on licence, to the said.....

Nothing in this Act shall apply-- (a) to any premises belonging to the Government;1[***] (b) to any tenancy or other like relationship created by a grant from the Government in respect of the premises taken on lease, or requisitioned, by the Government: 2[Provided that where any premises belonging to Government have been or are lawfully let by any person by virtue of an agreement with the Government or otherwise, then, notwithstanding any judgment, decree or order of any court or other authority, the provisions of this Act shall apply to such tenancy]. 3[(c) to any premises, whether residential or not, whose monthly rent exceeds three thousand and five hundred rupees; or (d) to any premises constructed on or after the commencement of the Delhi Rent Control (Amendment) Act, 1988, for a period of ten years from the date of completion of such construction;] __________________________ 1. ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN AREA AT AYODHYA ACT,1993 (Act, No. 33 of 1993) [3rd April, 1993] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the acquisition of certain area at Ayodhya and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. WHEREAS there has been a long-standing dispute relating to the structure (including the premises of the inner and outer courtyards of such structure), commonly known as the Ram Janma Bhumi-Babri Masjid, situated in village Kot Ramchandra in Ayodhya, in Pargana Haveli Avadh, in Tehsil Faizabad Sadar, in the district of Faizabad of the State of Uttar Pradesh; AND WHEREAS the said dispute has affected the maintenance of public order and harmony between different communities in the country; AND WHEREAS it is necessary to maintain public order and to promote communal harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst the people of India; AND WHEREAS with a view to achieving the aforesaid objectives, it is necessary to acquire certain areas in Ayodhya; BE it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows: -

Title: Exemption of Certain Premises from the Operation of the Act

All premises, the construction of which is completed after the 1st day of June, 1951, but before the expiry of three years from the commencement of this Act, shall be exempt from the operation of all the provisions of this Act for a period of seven years from the date of such completion.

Title: Power to Apply the Act to Certain Premises

(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare that all or any of the provisions of this Act shall apply to any place wherein a manufacturing process is carried on with or without the aid of power or is so ordinarily carried on, notwithstanding that (i) the number of persons employed therein is less than ten, if working with the aid of power and less than twenty if working without the aid of power, or (ii) the persons working therein are not employed by the owner thereof but are working with the permission of, or under agreement with, such owner: Provided that the manufacturing process is not being carried on by the owner only with the aid of his family. (2) After a place is so declared, it shall be deemed to be a factory for the purposes of this Act, and the owner shall be deemed to be the occupier, and any person working therein, a worker. Explanation.--For the purposes of this section, "owner" shall include a lessee or mortgage with possession of the premises.

Title: Disposal of Property Left on Public Premises by Unauthorised Occupants
