Title: Removal of Carcasses of Animals

(1) The occupier of any premises in or on which any animal shall die or on which the carcass of any animal shall be found, and the person having the charge of any animal which dies in a street or in any open place, shall, within three hours after the death of such animal or if the death occurs at night within three hours after sunrise, either,- (a) remove the carcass of such animal to such receptacle, depot or place as may be appointed by the Commissioner in that behalf; or (b) report the death of the animal to an officer of the health department of the1[ward] of the city in which the death occured with a view to his causing the same to be removed. (2) When any carcass is so removed by the health department, a fee for the removal of such amount as shall be fixed by the Commissioner, shall be paid by the owner of the animal or, if the owner is not known, by occupier of the premises in or upon which or by the person in whose charge the animal died. __________________________ 1. Title: Penalty for Placing Infected Animals or Carcass in River, Etc.

Whoever places or causes or permits to be placed in any river, lake, canal or any other water body, the carcass or any part of the carcass of any animal which at the time of its death was known to be infected, shall be guilty of an offence and, on conviction, be punished, in the case of a first offence with fine of two thousand rupees or with imprisonment of one month in case of non-payment of fine and in the case of subsequent conviction with a fine of five thousand rupees or imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with both.

Title: Manner of Burial or Disposal of Carcasses of Infective Animals

(1) Every animal which at the time of its death is infective or suspected to be infective shall be buried at least six feet below the surface of the ground or dealt with in such other manner as may be prescribed. (2) Except in the case of the exhumation of a carcass under section 15, no person shall disinter or otherwise remove the carcass of an animal buried in compliance with the provisions of sub-section (1).

Whoever places or causes or permits to be placed in any river, lake, canal or other water or in the sea within such distance from the shore as may be prescribed, the carcass or any part of the carcass of any animal which at the time of its death was infected or which was destroyed as being infective or suspected of being infective, shall be punished in the case of a first conviction with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees or with both, and in the case of a second or subsequent conviction with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with both.

Whoever, without lawful authority disinters or causes to be disinterred the carcass or any part of the carcass of any animal which, at the time of its death, was infective or which was destroyed as being infective, shall be punished with fine which may extend in the case of a first conviction to one hundred rupees and in the case of a second or subsequent conviction to five hundred rupees.

Whoever places or causes or permits to be placed in any river, lake, canal or other water or in the sea within such distance from the shore, as may be prescribed the carcass or any part of the carcass of any animal which at the time of its death was infected or which was destroyed on account of its being infective or suspected to be infective, in contravention of the provisions of section 22 shall, on conviction, be punished, in the case of a first conviction with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees or with both, and in the case of a subsequent conviction with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with both.

.....any farm, cattle shed, milk-store, milk-shop or other place from which milk is sold or supplied for sale, or in which milk is kept for sale or manufactured for sale into butter, ghee, cheese, cream, curd, butter-milk or dried, sterilized or condensed milk; and (b) in relation to a diary man who does not occupy any premises for the sale of milk, any place in which he keeps the vessels, used by him for the storage or sale of milk but does not include " (i) a shop or place in which milk is sold for consumption on the premises only: or (ii) a shop or place from which milk is sold or supplied for sale in airtight and hermetically sealed and unopened receptacles in the same original condition in which it was first received in such shop or place; (14) "dairy man" includes any occupier of a dairy, any cow-keeper who trades in milk or any seller of milk whether wholesale, or by retail; (15) "dairy produce" includes milk, butter, ghee, cheese, cream, curd, butter-milk and any and every product of milk; (16) "date of commencement of this Act" means the date appointed under sub section (3) of section 1 : (17) "filth" means " (a) nightsoil and other contents of latrines,.....
