Offences to be cognizable and non-bailable. 10. Power to make rules. THE PONDICHERRY PREVENTION OF COW SLAUGHTER ACT, 1968 (Act No.6 of 1968) 4th May, 1968. An Act to prohibit and prevent the slaughter of cow and its progeny in the Union territory of Pondicherry. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Pondicherry in the Nineteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extend and commencement:- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Pondicherry Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, 1968. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Pondicherry.
