Title: Provisions as to Exemption from Duty of Excise or Fixing Rate of Such Duty Under Certain Central Laws and Validation

.....the Central Excises Act. (4) Every notification or order granting any exemption or fixing a rate of duty issued or made under the Central Excises Act or the rules made there under at any time whatsoever before the 24th day of September, 1982 shall have, and shall be deemed always to have had, effect for all purposes as if the foregoing provisions of this section had been in force at all material times and accordingly, notwithstanding anything contained in any judgment, decree or order of any court, tribunal or other authority, any action or thing taken or done, or purporting to have been taken or done, under the Central Excises Act or the said rules or any Central law in any case by virtue of such notification or order shall be deemed to be, and to have always been, for all purposes as validly and effectively taken or done as if the foregoing provisions of this section had been in force at all material times, and, notwithstanding anything as aforesaid and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing,-- (a) all duties of excise levied, assessed or collected with respect to any goods under the Central Excises Act or the said rules or any Central law shall be deemed to.....

An Act further to amend the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the Insurance Act, 1938, the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 and the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992.BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-CHAPTER IPRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the Securities and Insurance Laws (Amendment and Validation) Act, 2010.(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 18th day of June, 2010. CHAPTER IIAMENDMENT TO THE RESERVE BANK OF INDIA ACT, 1934 2. Insertion of new Chapter IIIE in Act 2 of 1934. - After Chapter IIID of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the following Chapter shall be inserted, namely:- "CHAPTER IIIEJOINT MECHANISM45Y. Joint Mechanism. - (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 or any other law for the time being in force, if any difference of opinion arises as to whether- (i) any instrument, being derivative referred to in clause (a) or money market instrument referred to in clause (b) or repo referred to in clause (c) or reverse repo referred to in clause (d) or securities.....

Amendment of section 1 In the Cantonments (Extension of Rent Control Laws) Act, 1957 (46 of 1957) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), section 1 shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) thereof, and after sub-section (1), as so re-numbered, the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-- "(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 26th day of January, 1950.". 3. Title: Power to Extend to Cantonments Laws Relating to Control of Rents and Regulation of House Accommodation

.....be, appropriated by the Central Government on lease under the Cantonments (House Accommodation) Act, 1923(6 of 1923). 3[(2) The extension of any enactment under sub- section (1) may be made from such earlier or future date as the Central Government may think fit: Provided that no such extension shall be made form a date earlier than-- (a) the commencement of such enactment, or (b) the establishment of the cantonment, or (c) the commencement of this Act, whichever is later. (3) Where any enactment in force in any State relating to the control of rent and regulation of house accommodation is extended to a cantonment form a date earlier than the date on which such extension is made (hereafter referred to as the "earlier date"), such enactment, as in force on such earlier date, shall apply to such cantonment, and, where any such enactment has been amended at any time after the earlier date but before the commencement of the Cantonments (Extension of Rent Control Laws) Amendment Act, 1972, (21 of 1972) such enactment, as amended, shall apply to the cantonment on and form the date on which the enactment by which such amendment was amendment was made came into force. Title: Penalty for Withholding Assistance or Conniving at Offence or Escape

.....sanction of the Commissioner of the Division inflict a fine upon such village not exceeding five hundred rupees, except in the case of stolen property over five hundred rupees in value, in which case the fine shall not exceed the value of such property. Limit to fine. Appeal to High Court.- An appeal against all convictions under this section shall lie to the High Court of Punjab. Fine may be awarded to injured parties, and fee to tracker.- The Magistrate may direct that the fine imposed under this section or any part thereof shall be awarded to any persons injured by such nftence in compensation for such injury; and, in the case of stolen property recovered through the agency of a tracker, may direct that ,such property be not restored to its owner until he has paid to such (Track law. Slaughter of kine. Armed men and foreign vagrants. Miscellaneous.) tracker such fee, not exceeding one-fourth part of the value of the stolen property, as the said Magistrate seems fit.

For the purpose of facilitating the application of any law in relation to the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu, the Central Government may, before the expiration of two years from the appointed day, by order, make such adaptations and modifications of the law, whether by way of repeal or amendment, as may be necessary or expedient to give effect to the provisions of this Act and thereupon every such law shall have effect subject to the adaptations and modifications so made until altered, repealed or amended by a competent legislature or other competent authority.
