.....under Chapter XII, XVI or XVII of the Indian Penal Code (Central Act 45 of 1860); or (b) of an offence under section 6 of 13 of the Mysore Mines Act, 1906 (Mysore Act 4 of 1906); or (c) of an offence under section 86 of the Karnataka Forest Act, 1963 (Karnataka Act 5 of 1964); or (d) twice of an offence under section 19 of the Mysore Prohibition of Beggary Act, 1944 (Mysore Act 33 of 1944) or any other corresponding law in force in any area of the State; or (e) twice of an offence under the Suppression of Immoral Traffic in Women and Girls Act, 1956 (Central Act 104 of 1956); or (f) twice of an offence under the Untouchability (Offences) Act, 1955 (Central Act 22 of 1955); or (g) thrice of an offence within a period of three years under section 78, 79 or 80 of this Act; or (h) thrice of an offence within a period of three years under sections 32, 34, 37 or 38A of the Karnataka Excise Act 1965, (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966), the Commissioner, the District Magistrate, or any Sub-divisional Magistrate specially empowered by the Government in this behalf, if he has reason to believe that such person is likely again to engage himself in the commission of an offence.....

Karnataka Police Act, 1963 Section 43

Title: Employment of Additional Police on Application of a Person

State: Karnataka

(1) The Commissioner or the Superintendent may, on the application of any person, depute any additional number of Police to keep the peace, to preserve order or to enforce any of the provisions of this or any other Act in respect of any particular class or classes of offences or to perform any other Police duties at any place in the area under his charge. (2) Such additional Police shall be employed at the cost of the person making the application but shall be subject to the orders of the Police authorities and shall be employed for such period as the appointing authority thinks fit. (3) If the person upon whose application such additional police are employed shall at any time make a written requisition to the appointing authority to which the application for the employment of additional Police was made, for the withdrawal of the said Police, he shall be relieved from the cost thereof at the expiration of such period not exceeding one month from the date of the delivery of such requisition, as the Government or the appointing authority as the case may be, shall determine.

THE KERALA MONEY LENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1963 THE KERALA MONEY LENDERS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1963 (Act 33 of 1963) [1] An Act to amend the Kerala Money Lenders Act, 1958. Preamble.• WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to amend the Kerala Money Lenders Act, 1958 (Act 35 of 1958), for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Fourteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:• 1. Short title and commencement.• (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Money Lenders (Amendment) Act, 1963. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Title: Superintendence, Control and Organisation of the Police Force

.....orders of the Government made in this behalf: Provided that the powers to be exercised by the Commissioner of making, altering or rescinding rules under section 31 shall not be exercisable by a Deputy or Assistant Commissioner. Section 12 - Appointment of subordinate police Subject to such rules as the Government may from time to time make, the appointment of Police Officers of and below the rank of Inspectors shall be made by the prescribed authority. The Tamil Nadu Home Guard Act (Iii of 1963) Complete Act

.....the protection of persons, the security of property and the preservation of public order, as may be assigned to him by the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the provisions of sub-section (1), the Government may make rules requiring every member of the Home Guard to " (a) serve in aid of the police force and generally to help in the maintenance of the security of the State; (b) help the public during any emergency including flood, fire or epidemic; (c) render nursing and first aid; and (d) facilitate the maintenance of transport services and the control of traffic and crowds.
