Watch a judgment for citations

Paid plan

Add a CiteSignal watch from a judgment page or favorites.

Try it now

60-second version

  • Open the judgment page.
  • Flip the CiteSignal switch to On (CiteSignal panel under the title, or ToolsAlerts).
  • Manage all watches on CiteSignal.

In one sentence

Turn on CiteSignal from any judgment page with the toggle switch - daily emails when new orders cite that case.

Before you start

CiteSignal must be activated on your plan (Dashboard → Profile). Up to 20 active watches. AI Preview, AI Scholar, and AI Chambers include CiteSignal; AI Copilot and AI Associate select it at signup.

Steps

  1. Open the judgment you want to track.
  2. Find CiteSignal in the panel under the case title, or open ToolsAlerts and flip the switch.
  3. Flip the switch to On - no page reload required.
  4. Confirm the watch on CiteSignal index (status Active).
  5. To pause, flip the switch Off on the same judgment page, or remove the watch from the CiteSignal dashboard.

What you'll see

The switch shows On when watching; a toast confirms activation. The CiteSignal index lists the case name and citation string. Daily digest emails arrive when newly indexed judgments cite this order.

Common mistakes

  • Looking for an old “watch for citations” button - use the toggle switch instead.
  • Watching the same judgment twice - the switch reflects existing watches.
  • Expecting instant email - CiteSignal is a daily digest, not real-time.

Tips

  • Watch leading Supreme Court precedents you cite often in practice.
  • Flip Off temporarily instead of deleting if you may resume tracking later.
  • Guests and users without CiteSignal see Log in or Upgrade instead of the switch.
