Search History

Review and rerun your past searches across cases, acts, and other modules.

60-second version

  • Log in with Search History activated on your subscription.
  • Run searches on Cases, Acts, Dictionary, Forms, and other modules - visits are logged automatically.
  • Review past searches at DashboardSearch History tab.

In one sentence

Search History automatically records your SooperKanoon searches so you can revisit past queries from your Dashboard when the bonus feature is active.

Before you start

Search History is a bonus feature (Search History on your Profile). Free users can search unlimited times, but queries are not saved to a history log. You need a logged-in account with Search History activated and a valid subscription. Trial, Student, and Biz Plus include it; Starter and Pro Plus pick it at signup (feature value 2). Confirm on DashboardProfile.

Steps

  1. Log in and verify Search History in activated features.
  2. Use SooperKanoon normally - run keyword searches on Cases, Acts, Dictionary, Forms, Latest, Privy Council, open judgments, and use Advanced Search.
  3. Each qualifying session appends entries to your history log (search terms and URLs visited).
  4. Open Dashboard.
  5. Click the Search History tab.
  6. Scroll entries grouped by Date - each block lists searches and links from that day.
  7. Click any linked URL in an entry to repeat or continue that research path.

What you'll see

The Search History tab shows dated log blocks. Each entry includes clickable links to searches and pages you visited. If the feature is not activated, the tab displays: This Bonus Feature is not activated for your subscription! Admin accounts may see additional usage logs; regular users see only their own history tab content.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting history while browsing logged out - logging is tied to your authenticated account.
  • Looking for history on the free tier - saving history requires the bonus feature; searching itself remains free.
  • Assuming history replaces Favourites - history logs queries and visits; use the star icon to deliberately save specific judgments.

Tips

  • Review Search History at the end of a research session to capture URLs you forgot to bookmark.
  • Pair history with Tags and Notes - history shows where you went; tags and notes capture why a case mattered.
  • If history stops recording after renewal, check that Search History still appears in Profile activated features.
