Control, the word 'control' suggests check, restraint or influence. Control is intended to regulate and hold in check a restrain from action, State of Mysore v. Control of a company

Control of a company, means a person is to be taken as having control of a company if (1) the directors of the company or of another company which has control of it, or any of them, are accustomed to act in accordance with his direction or instructions; or (2) he is entitled to exercise, or control the exercise of one-third or more of the voting power at any general meeting of the company or of another company which has control of it; and where two or more persons together satisfy either of the above conditions, they are to be taken as having control of the company, Insolvency Act, 1986, s. 435(10) (UK) Halsbury's Laws of England 3(2), para. 5, p. 10....


Control vest

Control vest, when the words 'control' and 'vests' are read together they are strong terms which convey an absolute control in the authority in order to effectuate the policy underlying the rules and makes the authority concerned the sole custodian of the control of the servants and officers of the Municipal Corporation. Controlled business

Controlled business, the definition of 'controlled business' contemplates two kinds of insurers--(i) insurers who carry on life business only, and (ii) insurers who carry on composite business, that is to say certain other business which does not ex facie come within controlled business, Under sub-clause (a) of s. 2(3)(i) controlled business covers the entire life business of an insurer if he carries on no other class of insurance business and under sub-clause (b) all the business appertaining to his life insurance business is included if he is a composite insurer. If the controller is satisfied

If the controller is satisfied, the words in s. 10 of the Madras Building (Lease and Rent Control) Act, 1960 'if the Controller is satisfied' do not have any special significance. An ordinarily Civil Court try-ing a suit either on a mortgage or on a promissory note has necessarily to be satisfied about the execu-tion of the document, the passing of consideration etc., before it can pass a decree on the basis of either the mortgage or the promissory note.
