Addecimate
Legal definition for Indian law research
Definition
Addecimate, to take tithes.
'Addict' means a person addicted to any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance. [Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (61 of 1985), s. 2 (i)]
To be an addict, means something more than being merely accustomed to drink. It is certainly not a term of art, and giving to it its plain natural meaning, the expression 'addict' does carry with it a sense of moral obloquy, State of Bombay v. P.V. Balsara, AIR 1951 SC 319 (313).
