Work, means any of the following works, namely: (i) a literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work; (ii) a cinematograph film; (iii) a sound recording. [Copyright Act, 1957 (14 of 1957), s. 2 (y)] The general words 'work' is limited to something material in the sense of buildings, structures etc., mere fencing a vacant plot is not within the expression 'work', Kantaben M. Physical and mental exertion to attain an end, esp. as controlled by and for the benefit of employer 2.
