Woods and forests. A Government Department which managed the Crown Lands and collected all the Land Revenue of the Crown which goes to the public account. The Department was presided over by two Commissioners, to whom the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries was added as a third Commissioner, ex officio, by the Crown Lands Act, 1906; by Order in Council [S.R. & O. 1924 (No. 1370)] the name of the Commissioners was altered to Commissioners of Crown Lands.
