Definition :
Verification, the proper form of concluding (under the old system of pleading) any pleading after the declaration alleging new matter. It was made in the words, 'And this he is ready to verify.' It was rendered unnecessary by (English) C.L.P. Act, 1852, s. 67.
A formal declaration made in presence of an authorised officer, such as notary public, by which one saviors to trust of statements in document, Black's Law Dictionary, 7th Edn., p. 1556.
