Definition :

Trading, is exchange or sale of goods, whereas manufacture is the making of goods by a technical or industrial process. Trading does not include running of flour mill, which is substantially a process of manufacture, as the mill grinds corn into flour and makes a new product, Beharilal v. Means purchase of electricity for resale thereof and the expression 'trade' shall be construed accordingly. [Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), s. 2(71)]
