Definition :

Swimming baths may be provided by local authorities under the (English) Baths and Wash-houses Act, 1878 (41 & 42 Vict. c. 18), in the same manner as ordinary baths, repealed with its amending Acts and replaced by Part VIII. of the (English) Public Health Act, 1936, ss. 221 to 234.
