ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the Additional Chief Secretary / Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai / second respondent to submit the proposals to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Chennai / first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 31.01.2023, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
2. The short grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is only
non-disposal of the appeal dated 31.01.2023 filed by him aggrieved by the fixation of seniority by the District Revenue Officer before the Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai.
3. Heard Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents.
4. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the
respondents, on instructions, submits that the said appeal is still pending with the Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai and the same will be disposed of as expeditiously as possible.
5. In the light of the above submission, without going into the
merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of directing the Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Commissioner of Revenue Administration / second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 31.01.2023 filed by the petitioner against the proceedings in Na.Ka.A2/10958/2021, dated 05.12.2022, issued by the District Revenue Officer, Sivagangai, on merits and in accordance withlaw, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
