This writ petition has been filed to pay the balance bill amount of Rs.2,94,887/- (Two lakhs ninety four thousand eight hundred and eighty seven only) to the petitioner in respect of the civil work done by him in favour of the respondents under the EB surplus fund scheme 2017-18 for construction of RCC slab culvert at Vayalveli salai in Athandamarudhur Panchayat, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2.The petitioner claims that despite completing the civil work entrusted to him through the work order, the balance bill amount of Rs.2,94,887/- has not been paid by the fifth respondent to the petitioner. According to the petitioner, the fifth respondent has also acknowledged the liability to the petitioner. The petitioner has given several representations to the respondents and a last such representation was given on 21.02.2026 demanding the payment of the balance amount. Since the said representations have not been considered by the respondents by paying the balance amount, this writ petition has been filed.

3.Mr.M.Shahjahan, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 4. Mr.M.Venkateswaran, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the fifth respondent. 4.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the fifth respondent is directed to consider the petitioner’s representation seeking for payment of the balance amount of Rs.2,94,887/-(Rupees Two lakhs Ninety four Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty seven only) from the respondents, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 5.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the fifth respondent to consider the petitioner’s representation seeking for payment of the balance amount of Rs.2,94,887/-(Rupees Two lakhs Ninety four Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty seven only) from the respondents, which according to the petitioner, is payable towards the civil work done by him under
Vayalveli salai in Athandamarudhur panchayat, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Index: Yes/No
