ORDER
This is a petition filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to grant electricity connection in Ref.No.200086260126115 pursuant to the petitioner’s application dated 29.1.2026. Page2 of 6
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel accepting notice for the respondents.
3. The case of the petitioner is as follows:
The property at S.Nos.30/1 and 2, plot No.1, Sri Gnanamani Nagar consisting of 1125 sq.ft. is owned by Poorviga Sengunthar Sthiravasigal, in which, the petitioner claims to be a tenant. According to the petitioner, a rental agreement dated 31.3.2021 came to be executed. The petitioner made an online application on 29.1.2026 to the respondents to secure electricity supply connection. Pursuant to that, the fifth respondent sent a communication to the petitioner requiring the petitioner to produce relevant documents regarding ownership such as sale deed or partition deed or assignment deed or decree of a Court, computerized patta and property tax receipt. Having no other alternative, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition Page3 of 6
is disposed of with a direction to the fifth respondent to consider the request of the petitioner, pursuant to the application dated 29.1.2026, on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
