ORDER
Relying on unregistered Will dated 20.03.2008, the petitioner executed a settlement deed in favour of her son and presented the same for registration. Alleging that no action was taken relating to request for registration, the present writ petition has been filed.
2. Mr.S.Jayachandran, learned Government Advocate, accepts
notice for the sole respondent. If the document were to be presented or re-presented, as the case may be, he submits that the document would be registered or a speaking order of refusal would be issued within two weeks.
3. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:
3.1 The petitioner shall present or re-present the settlement deed before the registering officer within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order; 3.2 Within two weeks therefrom, subject to fulfillment of other requirements relating to registration, the registering officer shall register the document or issue a speaking order of refusal in accordance with Section 71 of the Registration Act, 1908.
