ORDER
The petitioner, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(A) and 4(1)(C) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (amendment) Act, 2024 in Crime No.09 of 2026, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 78 beer bottles each containing 180 ml without any valid permission. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an
innocent and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the
petitioner was found in illegal possession of 78 beer bottles each containing 180 ml without any proper license. He would also submit that there are 14 previous cases, pending against the petitioner. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Considering the nature of offence committed by the petitioner, and
taking note of the fact that there are 14 previous cases, pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
