1. The learned senior counsel appearing for the appellant submits that the matter has been settled between the parties before the mediation centre and the settlement agreement has come on record.

2. The offence alleged under Section 499 is compoundable.

Hence, the acquittal can be confirmed in the light of the settlement arrived at and the accused acquitted in terms of Section 320(8) Cr.P.C. The parties shall be bound by the settlement.

3. The appeal stands disposed of in view of the settlement agreement.
