BADAR DURREZ AHMED, J (ORAL) 1. The petitioners seek the benefit of Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the 2013 Act’) which came into effect on 01.01.2014. A declaration is sought to the effect that the acquisition proceeding initiated under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the 1894 Act’) in respect of which Award No.50A/Suppl./1969-70 dated 04.11.1981 was made, inter alia, in respect of the petitioners’ land comprised in Khasra Nos. 4039/2593/838, 4039/2593/839, 4039/2593/840, 4037/2892/1906, 836-837, 896, 914, 957, 1265, 4037/796, 4053/841, 1028/1, 1237/1, 1238/1, 1905/836-837, 1853/788, 898, 966 and 1263 measuring 26 bighas and 4 biswas in all in village Tughlaqabad shall be deemed to have lapsed.
