Present: Mr.Ashwani Talwar, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, with Mr.Sunil Kumar Vashisth, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab *** SANJAY KISHAN KAUL, CHIEF JUSTICE (ORAL).We have perused the status report in the form of affidavit of Principal Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Punjab, Chandigarh, affirmed on 15.01.2014.
It is stated in the affidavit that out of 132 stone crushers against whom FIR was registered on 22.10.2013 for illegal mining, after verification of returns and evidence in the form of weighment slips submitted by stone crusheRs.the claim of 115 has been found to be correct and thus the FIR against them would be cancelled.
It has, however, been stated that against 17 crushers action would be taken as there is failure to produce proper records.
The second limb of the affidavit states that the demarcation of interstate boundary is in process, for which about two to three weeks would be taken.
Check-posts, barriers in order to check the minerals on transit as envisaged under the Punjab Minor Minerals Rules, 2013, are proposed to be established.

The third aspect emphasised is that the Department is seeking environmental clearance for the minor and mineral quarries in terms of the relevant notification and out of 27 quarries, auction has been held for 17 quarries and approvals for transfer of environmental project proponent clearance in the name of contractors have been received for 14 quarries.
Learned Additional Advocate General, Punjab, on instructions, states that the remaining work would be completed within a maximum period of six weeks from today.
We are, thus, of the view that no further directions are called for except for the final compliance report to be filed by the respondents, duly supported by the photographs.
The petition, accordingly stands disposed of.
