The petitioner seeks for a direction to the District Collector to take a decision on Ext.P3 since the valuation of the vehicle has already been obtained as per Ext.P2 communication. The petitioner submits that the adjudication proceedings are still pending and the delay will defeat the rights of the petitioner and, therefore, the application for interim release of the vehicle has been filed as per Ext.P3.

2. It is upto the District Collector to pass appropriate orders in terms of the provisions of the Kerala Protection of River Banks and Regulation of Removal of Sand Act, 2001. The decision will be taken within a period of one month from the date of production of a certified copy of this Judgment along with a copy of the writ petition.
