WEST BENGAL MOTOR VEHICLES TAX ACT, 1979 WEST BENGAL MOTOR VEHICLES TAX ACT, 1979 9 of 1979 26th April, 1979 WHEREAS it is expedient to consolidate and amend the law relating to imposition and levy of tax on motor vehicles in the State of West Bengal; It is hereby enacted as follows: Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1979. (2) It extends to the whole of West Bengal. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
