WEST BENGAL DISTRICT BOARDS ACT, 1947 WEST BENGAL DISTRICT BOARDS ACT, 1947 3 of 1947 30th December, 1947 An Act to provide for the dissolution and constitution of certain district boards. WHEREAS under the award of the Boundary Commission parts of the district of Jalpaiguri, Malda, Nadia and Dinajpur have been excluded from the Province of West Bengal; AND WHEREAS the new district of 1[Nadia], West Dinajpur, Malda and Jalpaiguri have been constituted comprising respectively the parts of the former districts of Nadia, Dinajpur, Malda and Jalpaiguri which have been included within West Bengal under the said award; AND WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the dissolution and constitution of certain district boards; It is hereby enacted as follows : Section 1 Short title and..... WEST BENGAL DISTURBED AREAS ACT, 1947 WEST BENGAL DISTURBED AREAS ACT, 1947 6 of 1947 1st January, 1948 An Act to make better provision for the suppression of disorder and for the restoration and maintenance of public order in the disturbed areas in West Bengal. WHEREAS it is expedient to make better provision for the suppression of disorder and for the restoration and maintenance of public order in the disturbed areas in West Bengal; It is hereby enacted as follows : Section 1 Short title and extent (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Disturbed Areas Act, 1947. (2) It extends to the whole of West Bengal. Section 2 Definition In this Act "disturbed area" means an area which is for the time being declared by notification under section 3 to be a disturbed area. .....
