SIKKIM INTERPRETATION & GENERAL CLAUSES ACT, 1977 ACT NO 6 OF 1977 AN ACT to provide for and to facilitate the interpretation and construction of Sikkim laws, to shorten the language used therein and to make certain other provisions relating to such laws. THE SIKKIM VIGILANCE POLICE ACT, 1978 THE SIKKIM VIGILANCE POLICE ACT, 1978 ACT NO. 18 OF 1978 An Act to make provision for the constitution, superintendence and administration of the Sikkim Vigilance Police as a special police force in the State of Sikkim. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the Fifty " third Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title and commencement. 1. (1) this Act may be called the Sikkim Court Fees and Stamps on Document (Amendment) Act, 2002. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Sikkim Court Fees and Stamps on Documents Rules, 1928, in Schedule (A), in serial number (1), against the "plaints in Civil Suits or Civil Appeals", under the column " Value of Stamp chargeable", for the words ˜annas two in a rupee", the words and figure "6(six) percentum", shall be substituted. (f) "Foreign Liquor" means:- (i) Brandy, whisky, rum, vodka, gin liqueurs, cordial, bitters and wines or mixture containing any of the liquor aforesaid; (ii) Spirit, sophisticated or compounded so as to resemble in colour and flavour, brandy, whisky rum, vodka, gin, liqueurs, cordials, bitters or other similar potable alcoholic preparation.
