Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 Section 6

Title: Constitution of State Legal Services Authority

.....allowances and pensions payable to the Member-Secretary, officers and other employees of the State Authority shall he defrayed out of the Consolidated Fund of the State. (8) All orders and decisions of the State Authority shall be authenticated by the Member-Secretary or any other officer of the State Authority duly authorised by the Executive Chairman of the State Authority. Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 Chapter VI

Title: Lok Adalats

.....and arrive at a compromise or settlement between the parties. (4) Every Lok Adalat shall, while determining any reference before it under this Act, act with utmost expedition to arrive at a compromise or settlement between the parties and shall be guided by the principles of justice, equity, fair play and other legal principles. (5) Where no award is made by the Lok Adalat on the ground that no compromise or settlement could be arrived at between the parties, the record of the case shall be returned by it to the court, from which the reference has been received under sub-section (1) for disposal in accordance with law. (6) Where no award is made by the Lok Adalat on the ground that no compromise or settlement could bearrived at between the parties, in a matter referred to in sub-setion (2), that Lok Adalat shall advise the partiesto seek remedy in a court. National Housing Bank Act, 1987 Chapter VI

(5)The National Housing Bank shall furnish to the Central Government and theReserve Bank within 1 [four months] from the date on which the annualaccounts of the National Housing Bank are closed and balanced, a copy of itsbalance sheet as on the close of the relevant year together with a copy of theprofit and loss account for the year and a copy of the auditors report and areport of the working of the National Housing Bank during that year, and theCentral Government shall, as soon as may be after they are received by it, causethe same to be laid before each House of Parliament. Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act, 1987 [Repealed] Section 6

Title: Enhanced Penalties

(1) If any person with intent to aid any terrorist or disruptionist, contravenes any provision of, or any rule made under, the Arms Act, 1959 (54 of 1959), the Explosives Act 1884 (4 of 1884), the Explosive Substances Act 1908 (6 of 1908) the Inflammable Substances Act, 1952 (20 of 1952), he shall, notwithstanding anything contained in any of the aforesaid Acts or the rules made thereunder, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than five years but which may extend to imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to fine. (2) For the purposes of this section, any person who attempts to contravene or abets, or attempts to act, or does any act preparatory to the contravention of any provision of any law, rule or order, shall be deemed to have contravened that provision, and the provisions of sub-section (1) shall, in relation to such person, have effect subject to the modification that the reference to "imprisonment for life" shall be construed as a reference to "imprisonment for ten years".

Jute Packing Materials Compulsory Use in Packing Commodities Act, 1987 Section 6

The Central Government may, by order, require any person who is required to use jute packaging material for packing under section 5, to furnish, for the purposes of this Act,-- (a) such information in his possession, with respect to any commodity or class of commodities or percentage thereof which requires such packing, to any officer specified by it, in such form and within such period as may be specified by that Government in the order; (b) such samples of jute packaging material for inspection by such officer at such places and within such period as may be specified by it in the order.

Karnataka Urban Development Authorities Act, 1987 Chapter 6

Title: Officers and Servants of the Authority

.....the Authority) shall be exercised by the Commissioner in the case of officers and servants whose monthly salary does not exceed one thousand and five hundred rupees and in every other case by the Authority : Provided that in the case of officers in Government service lent to the Authority, the Commissioner may exercise the powers of sanctioning or with-holding increments, fining or suspending and shall report the fact to the Head of the Department of Government to which such officer belongs. (2) The power of dispensing with the service of any officer or servant of the Authority not being an officer in Government service lent to the Authority otherwise than by reason of such officer's or servant's own misconduct, or of permitting any such officer or servant to retire on a pension, gratuity or compassionate allowance, shall subject to the provisions of sub-section (1), be exercised by the Authority only.
