JUDICIAL COMMISSIONERS COURTS (DECLARATION AS HIGH COURTS) ACT, 1950[REPEALED] Section 6

Title: Exception and modification subject to which the provisions of Chapter V of Part VI of the Constitution apply to the Judicial Commissioner's Courts

The provisions of Chapter V of Part VI of the Constitution shall, in their application to a Judicial Commissioners Court, have effect subject to the following exceptions and modifications, namely: - (a) the provisions of Articles 216, 217, 218, 220, 221, 222, 223, 224, 230 and 231 shall not apply; (b) references in Article 219, in the proviso to clause (3) of Article 227 and in Article 229 to the Governor shall be construed as references to the administrator of the Union territory in relation to which that Court exercises jurisdiction.

.....Legislature of a State shall be determined by a majority of votes of the members present and voting, other than the Speaker or Chairman, or person acting as such.The Speaker or Chairman, or person acting as such, shall not vote in the first instance, but shall have and exercise a casting vote in the case of an equality of votes. (2) A House of the Legislature of a State shall have power to act notwithstanding any vacancy in the membership thereof, and any proceedings in the Legislature of a State shall be valid notwithstanding that it is discovered subsequently that some person who was not entitled so to do sat or voted or otherwise took part in the proceedings. (3) Until the Legislature of the State by law otherwise provides, the quorum to constitute a meeting of a House of the Legislature of a State shall be ten members or one-tenth of the total number of members of the House, whichever is greater. (4) If at any time during a meeting of the Legislative Assembly or the Legislative Council of a State there is no quorum, it shall be the duty of the Speaker or Chairman, or person acting as such, either to adjourn the House or to suspend the meeting until there is a quorum. .....

The Constitution (Ninety-Second Amendment) Act, 2003 [7th January, 2004] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Constitution of India. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title.-- This Act may be called the Constitution (Ninety-second Amendment) Act, 2003. 2. Amendment of Eighth Schedule.-- In the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution,-- (a) existing entry 3 shall be re-numbered as entry 5, and before entry 5 as so re-numbered, the following entries shall be inserted, namely:-- "3. Drugs (Control) Act, 1950 Section 6

Title: General Limitation on Quantity Which May Be Possessed at Any One Time

(1) No person shall have in his possession at any one time a greater quantity of any drug to which this section applies than the quantity necessary for his reasonable needs. (2) This section shall apply only to such drugs as the Chief Commissioner may, by order published in the Official Gazette, specify for the purpose : Provided that nothing contained in this section shall apply to a dealer or producer in respect of any drug sold or produced by him.

Bombay Local Authorities Census Expenses Contribution Act, 1950, (Maharashtra) Section 6

(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make rules to carry out the purposes of this Act. (2) In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely :- (a) the portion of the expenses incurred in connection with the taking of a census which may be charged under this Act to the funds of any local authority; (b) the manner in which the sums charged under this Act shall be computed and paid; (c) the manner in which and the extent to which any duty in connection with the taking of a census shall be performed by a local authority. 1[(3) All rules made by the State Government under this section shall be laid before each House of the State Legislature as soon as may be after they are made, and shall be subject to such modifications as the State Legislature may make during the session in which they are so laid or the session immediately following.] _________________ 1.
