.....and control of the Coast Guard shall vest in, and be exercised by, the Central Government and subject thereto, and to the provision of this Act and the rules, the command and supervision of the Coast Guard shall vest in an officer to be appointed by the Central Government as the Director-General of the Coast Guard. (2) The Director-General shall, in the discharge of his duties under this Act, be assisted by such number of Inspector-General, Deputy Inspector-General, Commandant and such other officers as may be appointed by the Central Government. Section 6 - Enrolment (1) The persons to be enrolled to the Coast Guard, the mode of enrolment and the procedure for enrolment shall be such as may be prescribed. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act and the rules, every person who has, for a continuous period of three months, been in receipt of pay as a person enrolled under this Act and borne on the rolls of the Coast Guard shall be deemed to have been duly enrolled. Section 7 - Liability for service outside India Every member of the Coast Guard shall be liable to serve in any part of India as well as outside India. Section 8 - Oath of allegiance .....

This Act and any rule made or deemed to have been made thereunder shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent therewith contained in any other law with respect to matters for which provision is made in this Act or for which rules can be made under this Act: Provided that nothing in this Act shall affect or be deemed to affect the provisions of the Acts specified in the Schedule appended to this Act.

.....than that relating to hereditary offices or rights and the word "granted" shall be construed accordingly; (c) "Government" means the Government of Karnataka; (d) "Scheduled Castes" and "Scheduled Tribes" shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Constitution; (e) "transfer" means a sale , gift, exchange, mortgage (with or without possession), lease or any other transaction not being a partition among members of a family or a testamentary disposition and includes the creation of a charge or an agreement to sell, exchange, mortgage or lease or enter into any other transaction. (2) Words and expressions not defined in this Act shall have the meaning assigned to them in the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964.

Title: Prohibition of Registration of Transfer of Granted Lands

Notwithstanding anything in the Registration Act, 1908 on or after the commencement of this Act, no registering officer shall accept for registration any document relating to the transfer of, or to the creation of any interest in, any granted land included in a list of granted lands furnished to the registrating officer except where such transfer is in accordance with this Act or the terms of the grant of such land or the law providing for such grant.

.....said Act, or the additional duty under Section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975-, already paid on the raw material used in the production or manufacture of such goods), are assessed to duty, there shall be levied and collected a duty of excise equal to fifteen percent of the total amount so chargeable on such goods.] (2) The duties of excise referred to in sub-section (1) in respect of the goods specified in the Schedule shall be in addition to the duties of excise chargeable on such goods under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944-, or any other law for the time being in force and shall be levied for the purposes of the Union and the proceeds thereof shall not be distributed among the States. (3) The provisions of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944-, and the rules made there under, including those relating to refunds and exemptions from duties, shall, so far as may be, apply in relation to the levy and collection of the duties of excise leviable under this section in respect of any goods as they apply in relation to the levy and collection of the duties of excise on such goods under that Act or those rules.
