.....constitute an Indian Nursing Council in order to establish a uniform standard of training for nurses, midwives and health visitors; It is hereby enacted as follows :- This Act has been extended to the States merged in the State of Bombay: see Bom, Act 4 of 1950, section 3and Schedule II, Pt. I (30-3-1950). It is now extended to the Union territories of- (1)Dadra and Nagar Haveli, by Regn. 6 of l963; (2) Pondicherry, by Regn. 7 of 1963 (1-10-1963): (3) Goa, Daman and Diu, by Regn. 11 of 1963 (1-2-1965). SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called The Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947. (2)1[It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.] (3) It shall come into force at once. SECTION 02: INTERPRETATION - In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) "the Council" means the2[Council] constituted under this Act; (b) "prescribed" means prescribed by regulations made undersection 16-;' (c) "3[States] Council" means a Council (by whatever name called) constituted under the law of a3[State] to regulate the registration of nurses, midwives or health visitors in the3[State]; (d) " 3[State] register".....

Pepsu Court of Wards Act, 2008 Bk Complete Act

.....repealed shall, so far as may be, be deemed to have been respectively made, issued, conferred, granted, acquired, incurred and done under this Act. (2) Any enactment or document referring to the Patiala Court of Wards Act, 2000, shall, so far as may be, be construed to refer to this Act or the corresponding portion thereof. 3. .....ACT, 1956 MEDICAL COUNCIL ACT, 1956 102 of 1956 30th December, 1956 "The objects of this Bill are to amend the Indian Medical Council Act, 1933 (Act 27 of 1933)- (a) to give representation to licentiate members of the medical profession, a large number of whom are still practising in the country, (b) to provide for the registration of the names of citizens of India who have obtained foreign medical qualifications which are not at present recognised .under the existing Act; (e) to provide for the temporary' recognition of medical qualifications granted by medical institutions in countries outside India with which no scheme of reciprocity exists in cases where the medical practitioners concerned are attached for the time being to any medical institution in India for the purpose of teaching or research or for any charitable object; (d) to provide for the formation of a Committee of Post-graduate Medical Education for the purpose of assisting the Medical Council of India to prescribe standards of post-graduate medical education for the guidance of Universities and to advise Universities in the matter of securing uniform standards for post-graduate medical education.....

Section 2 Definitions In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (1) "affiliated", in relation to a college or an institution, means affiliated to the University of North Bengal as constituted prior to the appointed day and continuing as such immediately before such day or affiliated to the University under this Act; (2) "appointed day" means the date referred to in sub-section (5) of section 57; (3) "constituent college" means an affiliated college in which instruction is provided, under prescribed conditions, for honours as well as for postgraduate courses of study, and which is declared as such by the University. Provided that, if in any professional subject no honours courses of study have been prescribed, a professional college may be a constituent college although no instruction is provided in that college for honours courses of study in that subject; (4) "convocation" means a meeting of the Court for the purpose of conferring degrees, titles, diplomas, certificates or other academic.....

.....It is hereby enacted in the Seventeenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Nurses Act, 1966. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra. (3)(a) Section 1 shall come into force at once. (b) The remaining provisions of this Act (except Chapters V and VI) shall come into force on such 2[date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. (c) Chapter V shall come into force in the Bombay area on the date on which the remaining provisions come into force under clause (b); but that Chapter shall come into force in the rest of the State on such subsequent date as the State Government may, by like notification, appoint. (d) Chapter VI shall come into force on such date subsequent to the date referred to in clause (b) as the State Government may, by like notification, appoint.
