.....and discipline of, and disciplinary proceedings against, students in the University and in the affiliated colleges and other institutions; (m) rules to be observed and enforced by the colleges and recognised institutions in respect of transfer of students; and (n) all other matters which by this Act or by the Statutes are to be or may be provided for by the Ordinance. 30 (2) No Ordinance shall be made for amending any of the Regulations or the Statutes in force. Section 43 - Procedure for making of Ordinances (1) The Ordinances may be made by the Syndicate in the manner hereinafter provided. (2) In making the Ordinances, the Syndicate shall consult,- (a) the Board or the Boards of Studies concerned when such Ordinances affect the duties of examiners; and (b) the Academic Council when such Ordinances affect the courses of study, conduct or the standard of examinations or the conditions of residence of students. .....that are required to be fulfilled for admission of the colleges to the privileges of the University; (l) all other matters which by this Act are to be, or may be provided for by the statutes. Section 23 - Statutes how made (1) The first statutes are those set out in the Second Schedule. (2) The Board of management may, from time to time, make new or additional statutes or may amend or repeal the statutes referred to in sub-section (1): Provided that the Board of Management shall not make, amend or repeal any statutes affecting status, powers or constitution of any authority of the University until such authority has been given a reasonable opportunity to express its opinion in writing on the proposed changes and any opinion so expressed has been considered by the Board of Management. (3) Every new statute or addition to the statutes or any amendment or repeal thereof shall require the approval of the Chancellor, who may assent thereto or withhold assent or remit to the Board of Management for reconsideration in the light of the observation, if any, made by him. (4) A new Statute or a Statute amending or repealing an existing statute shall not be valid.....

Karnataka Universities of Agricultural Sciences Act, 1963 Chapter 6

.....the previous approval of the Chancellor who may sanction, disallow or remit it for further consideration. (7) Every Statute made under this Act shall be published in the official Gazette. Section 41 - Regulations (1) The Authorities of the University may, by notification in the official Gazette, make Regulations consistent with this Act and the Statutes, (a) laying down the procedure to be observed at their meetings and the number of members required to form the quorum; (b) providing for the matters which by this Act or the Statutes have to be provided by Regulations; (c) providing for any other matter solely concerning such authorities and not provided for by this Act and the Statutes. (2) Every Authority of the University shall make Regulations providing for the giving of notice to the members of such Authority of the dates of meetings and of the business to be considered at meeting and for keeping of a record of the proceedings of the meetings. (3) The Academic Council may, subject to the provisions of the Statutes, make Regulations providing for courses of study, system of examinations, and degrees and diplomas of the University after receiving drafts.....

Indian Maritime University Act 2008 Section 29

.....existing Statute shall have no validity unless it has been assented to by the Visitor. (5) Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing sub-sections, the Visitor may make new or additional Statutes or amend or repeal the Statutes referred to in subsection (1), during the period of three years immediately after the commencement of this Act: Provided that the Visitor may, on the expiry of the said period of three years, make, within one year from the date of such expiry, such detailed Statutes as he may consider necessary and such detailed Statutes shall be laid before both Houses of Parliament. (6) Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing sub-section, the Visitor may direct the University to make provisions in the Statutes in respect of any matter specified by him and if the Executive Council is unable to implement such direction within sixty days of its receipt, the Visitor may, after considering the reasons, if any, communicated by the Executive Council for its inability to comply with such direction, make or amend the Statutes suitably.
