The word "and" was deleted by Bom. 22 of 1960, s. 25(a). 4. Clauses (c1) and (c2) were inserted, Bom. 22 of 1960, s. 25(b). 5. The State Government may grant special permits for the use or consumption of foreign liquor to any person, who is,- (a) a sovereign or head of a foreign State; (b) an Ambassador, diplomatic envoy or Consul, Honorary Consul or Trade, Commerce or other Representative of a foreign State; (c) a member of the staff appointed by, or serving under, any person specified in clause (a) or (b) , provided that such member is a national of a foreign State; and (d) the Consort of any person specified in clause (a) , clause (b) or clause (c) or any relation of such person dependent upon him.

2[154. Power to exempt. The Central Government may, by notification, exempt from the application of this Act, or any provision thereof, and for such period as it may specify in such notification-- (a) any class of enterprises if such exemption is necessary in the interest of security of the State or public interest; (b) any practice or agreement arising out of and in accordance with any obligation assumed by India under any treaty, agreement or convention with any other country or countries; (c) any enterprise which performs a sovereign function on behalf of the Central Government or a State Government: Provided that in case an enterprise is engaged in any activity including the activity relatable to the sovereign functions of the Government, the Central Government may grant exemption only in respect of activity relatable to the sovereign functions.] _______________________ 1. .....restrictions and modifications as it thinks fit, any enactment for the time being in force in India or any part thereof to the continental shelf or any part [including any designated area under sub-section (5)] thereof; and (b) make such provisions as it may consider necessary for facilitating the enforcement of such enactment,and any enactment so extended shall have effect as if the continental shelf or the part [including, as the case may be, any designated area under sub-section (5)] thereof to which it has been extended is a part of the territory of India. (7) Without prejudice to the provisions of sub-section (2) and subject to any measures that may be necessary for protecting the interests of India, the Central Government may not impede the laying or maintenance of submarine cables or pipelines on the continental shelf by foreign States: Provided that the consent of the Central Government shall be necessary for the delineation of the course for the laying of such cables or pipelines.
