.....OF CENTRAL GOERNMENT TO MAKE RULES. (1) The [Central Government] may, by notification in the [Official Gazette], make rules regulating the manufacture, possession, use, operation, sale, import or export of any aircraft or class of aircraft [and for securing the safety of aircraft operation.]. All member States of the World Health Organisation had officially discontinued compulsory vaccination of smallpox with effect from 1982. The Commission on Review of Administrative Laws under the Chairmanship of Shri P.C. Jain has, inter alia, recommended the repeal of the Vaccination Act, 1880. The Vaccination Act, 1880 is no longer relevant and needs to be repealed. 2. The Bill seeks to repeal the aforesaid Act. An Act to repeal the Vaccination Act, 1880. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE. -This Act may be called the Vaccination (Repeal) Act, 2001.-1 SECTION 02: REPEAL OF ACT (13 OF 1880). -The Vaccination Act, 1880-is hereby repealed. Title: Medical Inspection and Permission Required Before Embarkation of Pilgrims

.....the embarkation of pilgrims to commence. (2) The medical inspection of female pilgrims shall, subject to any rules which may be made under this Act and as far as may be practicable, be carried out by women. (3) No pilgrim shall be received on board any pilgrim ship unless he produces the medical certificate signed by a person who is duly qualified to grant such certificate, showing that such pilgrim- (a) has been inoculated against cholera within such period before the inspection as may be prescribed; and (b) has been vaccinated against smallpox within such period before the inspection as maybe prescribed: Provided that the officer making the inspection may dispense with the certificate of vaccination, if in his opinion the pilgrim has marks showing that he has had smallpox. .....endemic or infectious disease other than a disease specified in clause (8) of section 2 to be a "dangerous disease", for the purpose of this Act. Section 402 - Obligation of medical practitioner to report dangerous disease (1) If any medical practitioner becomes cognizant of the existence of anydangerous disease in any private or public dwelling in the city, he shall inform the Commissioner, the health officer or the sanitary inspector of the division, with the least practicable delay. Title: Prohibition of Inoculation for Small-pox

(1) Inoculation for smallpox is prohibited. (2) No person who has undergone the operation of inoculation shall enter the city before the lapse of forty days from the date of inoculation without a certificate from a medical practitioner of such class as the Commissioner may authorise stating that such person is no longer likely to produce smallpox by contact or near approach.

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Complete Act

.....in 1867, 1882andagain in 1893and 1896 but all these attempts failed owing to legal and constitutional difficulties.Two of the principal contributory factors were the then limited powers of the Indian Legislature to legislate regarding shipping and the fact that part of the British Statute law on the subject, including parts of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, which is the principal United-Kingdom enactment on the subject, applied to Indian and any Indian enactment had to be in legal harmony with that law. A fresh attempt was made in 1921-22 to codify the Indian law on merchant shipping by the Statute Law Revision Committee, which decided that only consolidation, and not revision should be attempted immediately. The result was the Indian Merchant Shipping Act, 1923, which is now on the Statute Book and which consolidated some 21 existing Indian Acts on the subject.
