THE SIKKIM PROHIBITION OF BEGGARY ACT, 2004 THE SIKKIM PROHIBITION OF BEGGARY ACT, 2004 (ACT NO. 4 OF 2004) AN ACT To prohibit persons from resorting to begging and to provide for the detention, training and employment of beggar and offenders, their custody, trial and punishment of beggar and offenders and for the relief and rehabilitation of such persons in the State of Sikkim. Whereas it is deemed necessary and expedient to prohibit persons from resorting to begging and to provide for the detention, training and employment of beggars and offenders their custody, trial and punishment of beggar and offenders and for the relief and rehabilitation of such persons in the State of Sikkim.
