.....OF OFFICE AND POST PONEMENT OF ELECTIONS) ACT, 1981 THE ORISSA GRAMA PANCHAYATS (REDUCTION OF TERM OF OFFICE AND POST PONEMENT OF ELECTIONS) ACT, 1981 Orissa Act 29 of 1981 [Received the assent of the Governor on the 23rd October, 1981 first Published in an Extraordinary issue of the Orissa Gazette, dated the 26th October, 1981] An act to provide for the reduction of term of office of certain grama panchayats and postponement of elections of certain other grama panchayats in the state and for matters Incidental thereto Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Thirty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:" 1. Short title and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Orissa Grama Panchayati (Reduction of Term of Office and Postponement of Elections) Act, 1981. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 27th day of August, 1981. 2. Definitions.
