THE SIKKIM POLICE ACT, 2008 THE SIKKIM POLICE ACT , 2008 (Act No . 15 of 2008) AN ACT To make provision for the law relating to the establishment and management of the Police organization and its functions. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows: CHAPTER I Preliminary: Definitions and Interpretations Short title, extent and commencement 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Police Act, 2008. (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette appoint. Definitions 2. (1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires.- ( a) "Act" means the Sikkim Police Act, 2008 (b) "cattle" means and includes cows, buffalos, elephants, camels, horses, asses, mules, sheep, goats and swine (c) "core functions" means duties related to sovereign functions of the State including arrest, search, seizure, crime investigation, crowd control and allied functions that can only be performed by the police as the agency of the State (d) "Group `C' posts" means the posts so categorized under the.....

.....The officer-in-charge of every police station shall maintain database in electronic form or otherwise, of all tenants and domestic or professional help living within the jurisdiction of the police station. Penalty 7. (1) Any house owner violating the provisions of section 3 of this Act shall, on conviction by a Magistrate of the first class having jurisdiction, be punishable with fine which may extend up to rupees five thousand in each case. (2) Any employer and/or manager of a household or establishment or land, vehicle, vessel or aircraft violating the provisions of section 4 of this Act shall, on conviction by a Magistrate of the first class having jurisdiction, be punishable with fine which may extend up to rupees five thousand in each case. THE SIKKIM PRISONS ACT, 2007 THE SIKKIM PRISONS ACT, 2007 (Act No. 16 of 2007) AN ACT To provide for a law regulating the prisons in Sikkim. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER I Short title, extent and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Prisons Act, 2007 (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim; (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, in the official gazette appoint. Definitions. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires: - (a) "civil prisoner" means any prisoner who is not a criminal prisoner; 2 . (b) "Competent authority" means any officer having jurisdiction and legal authority to deal with a particular matter in question; (c) "convicted criminal prisoner" means any criminal prisoner under sentence of court or court-martial, and includes a person detained in prison under the provision of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973; (d) "Court" includes any officer lawfully exercising civil, criminal or revenue jurisdiction; (e) "criminal prisoner" means any prisoner duly committed to custody.....

The Sikkim Industrial Promotion & Incentive (Amendment) Act, 2003 Complete Act

.....means separately identifiable investment made by an existing industrial unit in the fixed capital assets to set up a project for manufacturing of new products (s) provided that the additional investment in the fixed assets is not less than 25% of the gross fixed capital and increase of additional employment is at least by 10%. (ddd) "Expansion" of an industrial units means additional fixed unit. For the purpose of calculation, Gross value of all the capital investment made on land, building and plant machinery of the existing unit will be taken into consideration.
