Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Obligations of Insurers to Rural or Social Sectors) Regulations, 2000 Complete Act

Regulation 2 Definitions In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires- (a) "Act" means the Insurance Act, 1938 (4 of 1938); (b) "Authority" means me Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority established under the provisions of section 3 of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999(41 of 1999); (c) "rural sector" shall mean any place as per me latest census which has- (i) a population of not more man five thousand; (ii) a density of population of not more than four hundred per square kilometre; and (iii) at least seventy-five per cent of the male working population is engaged in agriculture. (d) "social sector" includes unrecognised sector, informal sector, economically vulnerable or backward classes and other categories of persons, both in rural and urban area; (e) "unorganised sector" includes self-employed workers such as agricultural labourers, bidi workers, brick kiln workers, carpenters, cobblers, construction workers, fishermen, hamals, handicraft artisans, handloom and khadi workers, lady tailors, leather and tannery workers, papad makers, powerloom workers, physically.....

.....Accountant General through the State Government. Section 50 - Annual Report (1) The Syndicate shall prepare the annual report containing all the particulars highlighting the activities of the University, target and achievements concerning each financial year and submit it to the Academic Council before 30th June. The Academic Council may pass resolutions thereon and refer back the annual report to the Syndicate for compliance. The Syndicate shall take action in accordance therewith. The action taken thereon shall be intimated to the Academic Council at its earliest next meeting. (2) Copies of the annual report incorporating the resolutions of the Academic Council shall be submitted to the State Government before 30th of September every year. The State Government shall lay the same before both the houses of the State legislature at their next earliest sessions.

The Sikkim Housing and Development Board Amendment Act, 2000 Complete Act

.....Sikkim Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants and Rent Recovery) Act, 1988. Amendment of section 4 4. In section 4 of the principal Act, in sub-section (1) (a) for the words "Local Self Government and Housing Department", the words "Urban development and Housing Department" shall be substituted:- (b) for clauses (ii) (iii), (iv), (v) and (vi), the following clauses shall be substituted namely:- (ii) Secretary, Urban development and Housing Department. (iii) Secretary, Rural development Department. (iv) Commissioner"cum-secretary, Planning and Development department. (v) Principal Chief Engineer"cum- secretary, Building and Housing Department. (vi) Secretary, Sikkim Housing and development Board. (vii) Any other professional, technical or eminent person whose expert experience may be useful to the Board to be nominated by the Government for such time as maybe specified in this behalf." .....assent of the Governor on 13th day of December , 2000 is hereby published for general information:- THE SIKKIM CEILING ON GOVERNMENT GUARANTEES ACT, 2000 (ACT NO. 21 OF 2000) An Act To provide ceiling on Government Guarantees and other matters connected therewith. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the fifty-first year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title and Commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Ceiling on Government Guarantees Act, 2000. Definitions. 2. (2) It shall come into force at once. In this Act, Unless the context otherwise requires:- (a) ˜Default risk' means the probability of default by the borrower on whose behalf the Government Guarantee is given, depending on the amount borrowed, the type of industry and the economic situation . (b) "Government " means the State Government of Sikkim. (c) "government Guarantee" includes the guarantee given by the State Government on behalf of Departmental Undertakings, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Authorities , Statutory Boards and Corporations and Co-operative-Institutions. Section 17 - Power to make rules (1) The State -Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make rules, carrying out the purposes of this Act. (3) Every rule made under this sect ion, shall be laid as soon as may be, after it is made, before the House of tile State Legislature while it is in session for P total period of ten days, which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions and if, before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the successive sessions aforesaid the House agrees in making any modification in the rule, or the House agrees that the rule should not be made, the rule shall.....

.....if he- a. is found, in performance of his functions under this Act, to have exceeded or abused his powers; or b. refuses to act or is incapable of acting or acts in a manner which the Government consider to be prejudicial to the interests and objects of the Council: Provided that no action shall be taken under this sub-section without giving the person concerned an opportunity to show cause against the proposed action; and (3-a) The Government may at any time, by an order published in the Gazette, withdraw the nomination of a member nominated on the Council and, upon such nomination being withdrawn, he shall Cease to be a member of the Council from the date of publication of the order. 4. When the office of a member including the Chairman becomes vacant by his resignation, removal death or otherwise, the vacancy shall be filled up in the same manner in which he was taken. 5. The Chairman of Council shall enjoy the status of a Minister of State of Orissa and shall be entitled to such remuneration and allowances as may be prescribed. 6. The Other members of the Council excluding the Revenue Divisional Commissioner and the Chief Executive Officer, shall be paid such fees.....

Madhya Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000 Complete Act
